Hi, Thanks for the comments. It was nice to "meet" you. I have found since I began my 1000 km walk that the weight issue, and in conjuction with that the hot flashes, is no longer a problem. Another added benefit to following through on this commitment. I'm so happy the weather is starting to warm up now: it just makes going outside more enjoyable. I have to admit that I actuallly look forward to the walks now and especially when I get to my "secret spot." I have created a very zen activity for myself and that's a great piece of self care from my line of work. I used to swim a mile a day and didn't think anything could replace the feeling of the water on my body as I swam through the pool...While this does not replace that feeling I am definitely enjoying the walking very much and don't miss the swimming at all right now....Hmmm....I'm beginning to sound a little athletic which, if you knew me from my younger years, could send somebody into complete hysterics. Wahoo to not caring what others think anymore. The walk continues, stay tuned. Living la vida fearless, Jan
I'm up to 155 km now and tomorrow I hope to do at least 10 to make up for some lost time. I annouced to a group today that I am wanting sponsorship and three people approached me with ideas....I am determined to make this a win/win for Lakeshore Corridor Community Team.
So far I have been promised $25 per kilometre for the first 6 kilometres. That means I am still in need of 994 km @ $25 each km....Care to join in? Living la vida fearless, Jan
