So, with no time for later on my mind, I set out for my walk today. The area is really busy now as the warm weather, finally, has brought everybody down to our little village in the city. That's ok it's fun to see everybody. Today was not a quick walk, more of a mosey if you will. I stopped at a coffee shop/pastry shop I'd heard of but had never gone into. The smells were heavenly and I could not resist buying a sandwich for a picnic lunch by the lake and some sparkling Italian water in a beautiful bottle. Packed safely into my traveling bag I set off to the lake. I enjoyed the view and was happy to see that many of the flowers are starting to pop out of the soil. I did have my picnic by the water, in the sunshine, with only the swans and geese as my lunchmates: how perfect. Finished 7 more km so I'm almost at 100 now.....only 900 more to go. I didn't take advantage of the nice weather yesterday because I was too tired. Too bad because today it's rainy but I'm going out anyway. I had to be at work early so it was actually nice to be able to get outside and breathe in the fresh air. I found a house I really like by the water's edge so I have put out the intention that it's the place I'd love to live, while still keeping the house I currently have, for my business. They're both really close together so it would be a perfect match for my coaching business and my home life as well. The rain actually stopped almost as soon as I set out so things went well. Did 7 km today at one time and another 2 km at another point so that makes 9 km in total today...Living la vida fearless, Jan

I only managed to get three km in today which means I have more to make up for tomorrow...I just ran out of time. That can't happen often or I'm not going to make my goal. So, after today's 3km I am up to 84 km...still pretty good. Jan

I did my 7 km walk yesterday walking half the time into a very strong wind. The good news was the other half I had the wind at my back. When I got home I had school work to do for my coaching certification classes. School is not one of them so to be a student past my 50th year was a big step for me. I'm up for it though and the learning I am gaining from this experience is phenomenal. One of the things I do on my walks is go over my homework in my head and try to remember elements of the coaching program. It's a nice zen thing to do. Today when I did my 7 km, actually did 10, I put on the headphones and started walking toward the lake when I realized there were all kinds of birds around. I took the head phones off and listened to them instead. Now that's music! I'm beginning to see some little spring flowers popping up out of the muddy soil and they look so bright and cheery. I picked a bunch of pussy willows and brought them home with me. They're a sure sign of spring. I enjoyed the sunshine today as I walked especially since I think tomorrow is warmer but rainy.

It's really out there now
Well a really cool thing happened today. I met somebody who is going to put my story on the front page of our local paper so today was photo shoot day:shoes at the ready. I say it's cool because this means the charity, Lakeshore Corridor Community Team, will get lots more exposure. The editor is also mentioning in the article that I want sponsorship for this walk to the tune of 25000.00 which is what Lakeshore Corridor needs to stay open. So we met at the lighthouse and the executive director and I linked arms and did a little walk across the bridge. The article comes out tomorrow. After the photo shoot I did my full 7 km. It's a lovely spring day and I walked to a different trail today along the water. The wind is really strong and it feels warm. I really enjoyed listening to the birds and the wind in the trees and the crashing of the waves: it's very calming. I have also started a list of intentions of things that I want to create in my life and I ponder it while I'm walking. This is becoming a very zen experience for me...Thanks for listening.
